You can visit the Vatican Gardens with an exclusive guide of the Vatican Museums. In this case the guide will be at your disposal. This option is available from 1 up to 15 people and it’s also a walking tour.
– Duration of the tour is of 2 hours.
– Full price ticket is 20€, while reduced ticket is 12€.

Vatican Gardens Tour By Open Bus
Alternatively, the Vatican Museums offer the Vatican Gardens By Open Bus option, that allows you to admire the gardens aboard a minibus.
– The duration of the tour is 45 minutes.
– Note that there are no stop-offs along this itinerary and that this tour is not available to people on wheelchairs or kids younger than 6.
– Explanations will be provided through a multilingual audio system (available in Italian, English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Russian).

ACCESSIBILITY
Wheelchair Accessibility Service:
The Vatican Museums have finally made the Vatican Gardens accessible to all. For people with disabilities there’s a specific itinerary available called “Vatican Gardens without barriers”
Masterpieces can be seen by visitors (in pre-constituted groups) with motor difficulties or in wheelchairs, accompanied by their friends or relatives, and guided along a tailored artistic and botanical itinerary by an educational guide authorised by Vatican City State.
Due to the specific form of the roads and paths within the Vatican Gardens, the visitor and eventual companion are required to sign a Declaration of Exemption of Responsibility.

Guide service (compulsory): € 160.00.
Full ticket: € 20.00 per participant.
Reduced ticket: € 12.00 per participant.
Free entry: for all disabled visitors with certified invalidity of more than 74%; free entry is extended also to an eventual companion.
Headset: compulsory for groups of more than 11 visitors.

Gardens of the Vatican City Facts & History

Even though the origins of the Vatican Gardens dates back to Pope Nicholas III (1277 – 1280), the present structure of the gardens must be attributed to Pope Julius II (born as Giulio della Rovere), patron of arts, who commissioned Bramante the current design of the Gardens, Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel and also the famous Raphael’s Rooms in the Vatican Museums.
